Postcrossing June Writing Prompt: The last thing that made you smile

Sometimes I feel It seems I forget how to smile. I understand there is a joy all around, however, it is not always enough to turn on my rusty 'smile switch' inside. Sad.

The Corona situation have kept me not to travel anywhere far from here since the beginning of 2020, it gets me irritated. I know I am/was not a super active person but I could go anywhere if I wished before. Now I still voluntarily refrain from non-essential outings. Non-essential things are hundred percent essential for my life I realize. I hope this wouldn't last any longer.

I cannot go abroad or even outside of my homecity. Though I receive cards from all over the world on Postcrossing. Every card/message scours the rust off my heart and makes me smile. Thank you my friends!

The last thing that made me smile was an email with beautiful photos from a penpal in Russia. Japan Post doesn't accept letters to Russia at the moment, which is disappointing, so we are exchanging emails, I love analog ways but I appreciate the Internet a lot.
