'The Guest Cat' - cat literature
I heard a book, '猫の客' - 'The Guest Cat' is said to be a masterpiece of cat literature. The author is a poet, and it's certainly an interesting read, with a storyline that makes you think🤔 I'd like to talk about this story with someone who have read it. It seems it's been published in several languages!
What do you think is the reason for
the neighbour's behaviour
towards the main character and his wife at the end of the story?

I lent it to someone because I wanted to talk about it with her and I haven't heard from her since, nor have she returned it. It is a shame I can't lend it to anyone else now!

What I've come up with...🙃
Is the neighbour's behaviour the same kind of jealousy as a wife who has been cheated on elsewhere and finds out about it after her husband's death?
Or is it anger that she feels interrupted from concentrating on grieving the death of her own family member?
Or did she take out her grief which had nowhere to put on to the couple?
What do you think? Some people thought it smelled like a mystery novel!

In addition🐈️ Although in Japanese, I found an introduction to cat literature by cat lovers called ねこほん - Nekohon which literally means cat book. I wonder if cats make people write about them. You can find it at https://nekohon.info/
