bulbous plants

I love tulips, and every year I plant a lot of bulbs, not only tulips, but also crocuses, daffodils and many other plants, before the cold weather sets in. 富山 - Toyama is the most famous place in Japan for bulbous plants, and that's where I get my bulbs from.

Every year I come across many different types of tulips, some with fine folds in the petals and some with colours that are out of this world. There must be a lot of breeding going on in bulbous plants.

I've seen documentaries about researchers trying to produce improved roses, but they rarely succeed and I admire their perseverance. It looks like a wonderful and rewarding job!
